Dear friends and partners of Viet Nam in the Czech Republic!

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in the Czech Republic. Here you can find information on all facets of the strong and time-tested relationship between the S.R. of Viet Nam and the Czech Republic, the Embassy's services and activities as well as Viet Nam in general.

It is truly a great honor for me to represent Viet Nam in the Czech Republic. The official diplomatic relations between our two nations was established on 2 February 1950 but the close political, economic and cultural ties between our two countries date back much further, of course.

Our two countries have already enjoyed more than seven decades of excellent relations. Viet Nam and Czechia share the goals of combating climate change, fostering digital economy and green growth, and speeding up the transition to renewable energy. We both cherish peace and uphold international rule of law, and share many interests in the multilateral arena.

The collective import-export turnover between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in 2023 surged by 21.94 percent compared to 2022, reaching US$ 2.9 billion. As a result of this considerable trade volume, the Czech Republic now stands as one of Viet Nam's most significant trading partners in Central and Eastern Europe. Meanwhile, Viet Nam has turned out to be the most important partner for the Czech Republic in Southeast Asia.

The nearly 100,000 Vietnamese citizens living in the Czech Republic - the third largest ethnic minority in the country - are the backbone of our strong political, scientific, cultural and economic presence. The Embassy is a service center for the Vietnamese community and the Vietnamese travelers who visit this country. And as the official representation of Viet Nam in the Czech Republic, our Embassy also provides services to the Czech people and entrepreneurs who travel to and do business in our country.

Today, strengthening these bonds between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic is of paramount importance. My team and I at the Embassy will do our utmost to intensify the partnership in economy, trade and investment, enhance the time-honored ties in education-training and boost tourism and people-to-people exchange, including through the Czech cultural center in Viet Nam and the early opening of a direct air route connecting the two countries.

As Ambassador of Viet Nam, I will work closely with Czech and international partners, and like-minded friends in Czechia, to push these goals forward. And I personally look forward to immersing myself in Czech history and culture. Likewise, we will look for opportunities to share ours with the Czech people.
